Classification of Textile Fiber

Textile Fiber can be classified into two types:

1. Natural Fiber.
2. Man Made Fiber.

Natural Fiber can be also divided into four types:

i. Cellulose.

ii. Protein.

iii. Mineral.

iv. Rubber.

Cellulose Fiber can be also divided into four types:

1. Seed fiber (Cotton).
2. Bast Fiber (Jute).
3. Leaf Fiber (Pineapple).
4. Nut hus Fiber (Cior).

Protein Fiber can be also divided into two types:

1. Animal hair fiber.
2. Insect secreation.

Man made fiber can be also divided into two types:

i. Regenerated fiber.

ii. Synthetic fiber.

Regenerated fiber can be divided into four types:

1. Cellulose.
2. Rayon.
3. Protein.
4. Miscellaneous.

Synthetic fiber can be also divided into five types:

1. Polyamide.
2. Polyolefin.
3. Polyvinyl.
4. Polyurea.
5. Polyurethane.
