Shed

The opening from where the warp threads are separated in the operation of weaving is called shed.
In another words, division of warp sheet in to two parts of inserting weft is called shed.
Purpose: To facilitate the passage of weft yarn across the width of the loom.
Types of shed: There are four types of shedding. They are:
  1. Center close shed
  2. Bottom close shed
  3. Semi open shed
  4. Open shed
